Unity Health Toronto, St Joseph’s Health Centre site in Toronto is inviting applications for an Active Staff full-time position in the Division of Oncology/Hematology. St. Joseph’s is a fully accredited community teaching hospital within the Unity Health Toronto network, serving Toronto’s vibrant and growing west-end community. St. Joseph’s provides care to a culturally and economically diverse population of about 530,000. Our hospital is a 400-bed facility that employs approximately 2,500 staff, along with 500 credentialed staff physicians. The successful candidate will join a highly collegial team of two full-time and one part-time hematologists and three full-time and one part-time medical oncologists. The scope of practice will be predominantly benign hematology. The selected candidate will have access to outpatient clinic time in the hospital for consultations, procedures, phlebotomy, transfusions and infusions. They will provide inpatient hematology consultation and cross-coverage of benign and malignant hematology inpatients in rotation with our existing hematologists. A hematology/oncology hospitalist provides MRP coverage both on weekdays and weekends. Compensation will be through OHIP billings (fee-for-service), with an estimated annual remuneration of $150,000-200,000.
The successful candidate must be proficient in English and be eligible for an academic appointment at the University of Toronto at the rank of Lecturer or higher. Certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada as well as licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario is a requirement. Candidates must have Canadian Medical Protective Association coverage or equivalent in good standing.
