Hematologist- Plasma Cell Disorders – Ottawa, ON

The Division of Hematology is experiencing substantial clinical and academic growth.  We are seeking a hematologist to join in our expansion and to lead in clinical care, education and/or research in Malignant Hematology as full-time academic faculty member. The focus of this position is multiple myeloma and related plasma cell disorders.

The 23+ faculty members in the Malignant Hematology, Transplant and Cellular Therapy programs work within well-defined and integrated clinical and research groups, with a variety of academic pursuits.  The Myeloma Program provides specialized care to patients with multiple myeloma, amyloidosis, and related hematologic conditions. We are a well-defined and successful clinical and research group, with a robust and expanding clinical practice.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in myeloma with an academic path in education, research, or administration.  There is great potential for collaborations in any of these areas.

The position is within the province of Ontario AFP for malignant hematologists (POAFP) and remuneration is competitive nationally.

Qualifications

The successful candidate must hold an MD degree; be a member of, or be eligible to be a member of, the Canadian Medical Protective Association; have, or be eligible for certification in Hematology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and have, or be eligible for, licensure in Ontario.

Bilingualism (French and English) will be an asset, as will a Master’s degree in education, health quality, administration or epidemiology.
