We are seeking an academic Hematopathologist to join our team providing Hematopathology (HP) and Transfusion Medicine (TM) services including coagulation testing, bone marrow examinations, flow cytometry, hemoglobinopathies, molecular diagnostics and routine/special lab hematology. The successful candidate will contribute to all areas of HP-TM related service work; depending on the candidate’s training and experience, a subset of this service may be considered.
A major client of EORLA, The Ottawa Hospital (TOH) is a quaternary academic health sciences center with a large leukemia program treating approximately 80 new acute leukemia patients and performing over 200 bone marrow transplants per year. The program is helping Ontario build capacity for CAR T-cell therapy for ALL and lymphoma patients. TOH’s benign Hematology program produces world-leading research in thrombosis. We operate the department’s state-of-the-art molecular oncology diagnostic laboratory which includes NGS platforms for assessing Hematologic malignancies in support of precision medicine and clinical trials.
Candidates must be eligible for licensure by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) and must have, or be eligible to obtain, certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (or acceptable equivalent) in Hematological Pathology. CPSO pathway 3 or 4 candidates from the US will be considered.
The successful candidate will have an academic appointment at UO and participate in teaching and research. Rank will be commensurate with experience according to university guidelines. Salary and benefits accord with Uniform Minimum Level of Compensation for pathologists in Ontario. The position is available March 1, 2025, and the competition will remain open until it is filled.
