Part Time Locum Opportunity for Hematologist in Myeloma/Lymphoma
The locum will provide clinical cover for two half-day clinics per week (Wednesdays/ Thursdays) at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre and for any associated patient care duties for a period of 6 weeks. Dates are flexible but early 2019 is preferred. The clinics comprise outpatient myeloma and lymphoma patients and typically include one new myeloma patient referral and 10-14 follow up visits per clinic. A number of new patient referrals are for autologous stem cell transplant. Hematology fellows are currently attached to both clinics, offering both support and the opportunity for teaching. Some patients are enrolled on clinical studies. Clinical research associates will support clinical trial visits. The regular consultant for the clinics will provide support as needed (for example by weekly chart review of complex cases). Compensation at a standard locum rate is envisioned though there may be room for negotiation according to experience.

The Department of Oncology at Windsor Regional Hospital along with the Windsor Regional Cancer Program is currently recruiting for a full time Hematologist to join its dynamic multidisciplinary team of Oncologists, Hematologists, Nursing and Allied Health Staff. The successful applicant will provide consultative services and work in collaboration with a group of 16 Medical Oncologists/Hematologists. One primary focus will be the management of patients with complex malignant hematologic malignancies. Radiation Oncology, Medical Oncology and Hematology services are well established as well as a 28 bed In-Patient Oncology Unit with a roster of Oncology Hospitalists to provide daily patient care supporting our consultation services. This position also provides opportunities for adjunct and tenure track academic advancement and clinical research.
